I still think there is no better place than Portugal and Madeira. You can walk at 3 am in Coimbra with a newly bought computer (I did) and you don´t get mugged. I didn´t spend enough time in Madeira, only a week in January 23, but in Coimbra I´m safe. That´s a lot worth. I´m a 72 y.o. widower since 2017 thanks to insecurity in Argentina.

After 7 months in the terrible Argentina, I´m again in my beloved home near to the Coimbra Stadium. Nevertheless, I think Madeira is one of the best places in the world, I started 2023 with the fireworks, and then stayed in Santa Cruz 8 days and visited all the south of the island (including the Monte Cablecar) mingling with locals. For 2025 I plan to come earlier and stay a little bit longer, near to the Pingo Doce in Funchal (good place to eat). 72 years old ? I´ve been already caught at 52 with a stroke, coma, wheelchair, NDE, etc in 2005 in Argentina. They sent me back (from upstairs). I celebrated my 70 years making 10 Km in Coimbra in a marathon time (for my age class). So my goal is calisthenics for 2026. Maybe we´ll meet. Greetings !!

So crazy, I just came across the video of you in my home town of east providence Rhode Island interviewing our mayor. It was a real joy to see…so happy you got to experience Rhode Island’s Portuguese community. I was born here (born to EP, mom immigrated to Fox point and dad came later on, both from Terceira) but I’m first generation like the mayor, I did not speak English when I went to kindergarten. This is an interesting place to grow up Portuguese. We watch your Madeira videos and we finally visited for one week in June. It was absolutely wonderful!

Awesome job guys! Congrats! This is super interesting. The monument is Portas da Cidade (I believe that's how they call it) in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel. Probably the only part standing from the old defensive wall, like our Portão dos Varadouros in Funchal.

Just a theory. Maybe its a mutation like here in Wales. C for G Cymru, Gymru ? As Portugal may , i say may come from Celtic people, Portu - Gal ?, maybe they used that mutation with Zargo, Zarco, V and U is common latin mutation. thats just a theory :D

Im Portuguese born in South Africa, but i grew up in this neighborhood. My high school was EastSide High on Van Buren St.

Theres no Portuguese neighborhood near where I live to my knowledge. Which is a shame cause i wanted to visit and practice Portuguese. The town over has a Brazillian neighborhood tho, so i guess im gonna make friends with some Brazillians lol. Cool video

Cheers to Victor from Aguaardente. Very much relate to his story growing up. Not bringing ⚽ with us to the USA 🇺🇸 and Canada 🇨🇦, along with our architecture, is one of the biggest regrets we as Portuguese immigrants should acknowledge. Football is on the rise, finally, but there is still no proper football culture north of the Mexican border. Portuguese architecture would turn otherwise ugly North American cities into artistic jewels. Instagram and tourism would fall head over heels for it. Not sure why no one has figured this out yet. Since you guys are on the east coast, here's a couple of story suggestions: Check out Mystic, Connecticut - the location of one of Julia Roberts' best movies, Mystic Pizza. It's about the trials and tribulations of 3 Portuguese girls coming of age in the fishing town of Mystic. If you haven't seen it yet, do yourselves a favour and faz um check it out. Also, Joe Rogan has a story about performing standup in a bar of Portuguese fishermen somewhere in Rhode Island. He says it was one of his worst gigs ever. Would be cool to find that nasty bar. And if you can, cross the border into Canada 🇨🇦 and visit us porkchop canucks in Toronto and Montreal. I'll buy you guys a caneca. Abraço from Toronto. Venha vinho!
